THE

IDEA IS

SIMPLE

How can we do more good in the cities that we visit for fencing tournaments?

THE QUESTION

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is:

What are you doing for others?

— MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

From October to July, thousands of us - fencers, families, officials, and crew - show up in a new U.S. city every month.

We come to compete, connect, and celebrate the sport we love.

But what if we could do more than just show up?

What if we left each city better than we found it?

Together, we can turn every tournament into a force for good.

OUR ANSWER

We saw an incredible chance to do something meaningful in every city we visit.

Thousands of people come together for competitions - and that means thousands of hours we can spend making a real difference where it counts.

So, we flipped the script.

Instead of just staying at the venue or in our hotel rooms, we reached out to local groups to find powerful ways to give back.

Our mission? To empower fencers to make a positive impact in the communities that welcome us.

Because here’s the truth: when we lift each other up and serve our communities, we all grow stronger - together.

I am convinced of this:

Good done anywhere is good done everywhere.

— MAYA ANGELOU

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple:

to provide fencers with meaningful opportunities to give back in the communities hosting our competitions.

Let’s do good anywhere, together!

— THEO LIN, FOUNDER

We have the power to strengthen communities - right where we are, right when it matters.

We don’t need a special occasion or a perfect moment to do good.

Good happens whenever and wherever we choose to make it.

So let's start changing lives, inspiring hearts, and building stronger, more connected communities.

HOW IT WORKS

WHY VOLUNTEER WITH US?

These days, it feels like young people are expected to do everything - ace their classes, train hard, compete at a high level, rack up service hours, and still find a way to make the world better.

It’s a lot. And honestly? It can feel exhausting.

Even when you want to volunteer, there are roadblocks everywhere - long applications, strict age limits, needing a parent or a ride... it starts to feel like the odds are stacked against you.

We get it - we’re competitive fencers too. That’s exactly why we created DoGood.

Because doing good feels really good - and we make it easy.

Whether you’ve got an hour or a whole afternoon, we’ll connect you with meaningful ways to give back while you’re in town for a tournament.

You’ll meet awesome people, support local communities, and leave knowing you made a real impact - all without missing your event.

No experience? No problem. Just bring your heart, your hands, and a little time to spare.

We keep it simple, flexible, and as close to the venue as possible - so you don’t have to choose between giving back and going for gold.

Let’s turn competition weekends into something even bigger:

a movement for good.

WHO WE PARTNER WITH

At DoGood, our goal is simple: make it easy for fencers - and anyone in the fencing world - to find meaningful ways to give back.

To do that, we partner with local nonprofits in the cities we travel to for tournaments. We also team up with fencing clubs, tournament organizers, and other fencer-led groups who share our mission to serve.

If you're a nonprofit, a fencing club, or even just a fencer with a big heart and an idea - we want to hear from you.

Let’s join forces and show what the fencing community is capable of.
