Founded in 1964 by John Fink, Atlantic City Rescue Mission (ACRM) began as a way to give a few homeless men a place to stay and something to eat. Since then, it has grown considerably to a staff of nearly 50 people who oversee the Mission’s programs, which aim to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the homeless, poor and those whose lives are bound by addiction in the Atlantic City area.

Besides providing hot meals and shelter, ACRM also works with its guests to overcome the very reasons why they may be homeless. Through their Counseling Program, Family Life Center Program, Work Readiness Program, Overcomer Program, and Hope Program, ACRM helps its guests address their issues so that they can overcome homelessness, defeat their addictions, enter the workforce, and realize a more stable and productive life.
