  • Broad Street Food Pantry

    Broad Street Food Pantry has been serving the greater Columbus community for over 50 years. Its mission is to support its neighbors by helping them put healthy food on their tables. The food pantry serves approximately 50 families a day, always with respect and dignity, and is an important source of nutritionally healthy food for many families in the local community. The pantry works on a drive-thru system. As a volunteer, you wi lbe filling orders by grabbing items from the pantry and bagging them, much like at your local grocer. Sometimes help is needed with restocking the shelves or bringing filled orders out to cars.

    An organization-specific waiver is required to volunteer at this facility. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the waiver.

    The pantry is about a 1/2 hour walk or less than a 10-minute ride from the Convention Center.

  • Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center

    4340 Tamarck Boulevard

    Last year, over 8,000 dogs came through Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center, either as a rescue or stray. The shelter strives to provide compassionate care for animals impounded at their facility, as well as provide adoption services or reunite as many lost dogs as possible with their owners.
    As a volunteer, you will be making treats for the approximately 250 dogs that typically reside at the shelter. The best part is being able to pass them out to the dogs and seeing their happy tail wags! You will also assist in any facility maintenance, such as cleaning kennels or paperwork.

    Wednesday, July 3rd, 2-4 pm

    An organization-specific waiver is required to volunteer at this facility. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have their parent or guardian sign the waiver.

    The dog shelter is located about 20 minutes by car from the Convention Center.

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio

    711 E Livingston Avenue

    Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio has been serving the community for four decades by providing housing and programs for families with children in the hospital. It is the largest Ronald McDonald House facility worldwide and serves 6,500 families annually. The House is never closed and runs 365 days a year, making its mission to support families with children receiving care at the hospital and to relieve some of the stress during a very stressful time. Best of all, while donations are welcome, no family ever has to pay for their stay with Ronald McDonald House!
    Volunteers at Ronald McDonald House will help to clean and restock rooms. You may also help with processing donations, cleaning common areas, and assembling new furniture. If you enjoy cleaning and putting things together, this is the service project for you!

    RMHC is located right across from Nationwide Children’s Hospital in downtown Columbus, which is less than a 10-minute ride from the Convention Center.
